Composite Station Post Insulator

Features of Composite Station Post Insulators

1. Superior Insulation Performance

Composite post insulators use high-quality silicone rubber, offering excellent arc resistance and anti-leakage properties. They effectively prevent moisture and pollution from affecting insulation, significantly enhancing the operational safety and reliability of power stations.

2. Lightweight and Robust Structure

Composite materials are lighter than traditional ceramics or glass, making installation easier. They are also more resistant to mechanical stress, ideal for high-wind and seismic regions, with high impact and earthquake resistance.

3. Strong Weather Resistance

These insulators are capable of long-term, stable operation under harsh environmental conditions. They are UV-resistant and can withstand temperature fluctuations, greatly extending their service life and reducing maintenance costs.

4.    Environmentally Friendly and Easy Maintenance

Made from eco-friendly materials, composite insulators meet sustainability requirements. Their surfaces resist pollution build-up, making cleaning and maintenance easier and helping to lower the overall operating costs of power facilities.

Structure of Composite Post Insulators

1. HTV Silicone Rubber Housing

The HTV (High-Temperature Vulcanized) silicone rubber housing forms the outer protective layer of the insulator. Known for its exceptional hydrophobicity and dielectric properties, HTV silicone rubber ensures reliable performance under diverse environmental conditions, including heavy pollution and humidity. It also provides excellent resistance to UV radiation and weathering, prolonging the insulator’s lifespan and minimizing maintenance needs. This housing prevents the buildup of contaminants on the surface, further enhancing insulation and reducing leakage currents.

2. ECR Fiberglass Core Rod

The ECR (Electrical and Chemical Resistant) fiberglass core rod is the main structural component, providing high mechanical strength and stability. This core rod is made of specially treated fiberglass materials that resist both electrical and chemical degradation, ensuring durability even in highly contaminated or corrosive environments. It withstands substantial mechanical stress, such as bending and torsion forces, making it suitable for areas with high wind loads or seismic activity. The ECR fiberglass rod ensures that the insulator maintains its structural integrity over a wide temperature range and varying weather conditions.

3. Metal End-Fittings

The metal end-fittings securely connect the composite insulator to other components in the power station, ensuring firm and reliable mechanical and electrical contact. These fittings can be manufactured from various metals based on the requirements of the installation environment:

Hot Dip Galvanized Steel: Provides excellent corrosion resistance and durability in outdoor environments. Aluminum: Lightweight and resistant to corrosion, ideal for installations where weight and conductivity are critical. Stainless Steel: Offers the highest level of corrosion resistance, especially suited for coastal or chemically aggressive environments. Each type of metal end-fitting is designed to meet specific environmental and operational requirements, ensuring the composite insulator's performance and reliability over extended periods.
